'Choices And
Consequences'
Debuts In Anson County
On Saturday, April 5th at Morven Church of God Our Prophecy,
Voices Publications sponsored Choices
and Consequences, an event that still has left attendees
throughout the state awestruck.
The evening started with a play written by Wordspiration,
playwright Eva Rivers
of
Charlotte
,
NC
. The play entitled
Choice and Consequences was a funny and whimsical
portrayal of two older
women, both of whom mimicked grandmotherly figures sitting on the
front
porch witnessing life-changing choices that the neighbors,
churches and children in their
community had made.
Although, this play kept you laughing at the verbiage and
antics of our elders the message was clear a choice made in haste
can result in some bad consequences.
Special Guest and author Devondia Rosebourgh of the Rasberrirose
Foundation of
Charlotte
,
N.C.
spoke to the audience on the
results of a choice she made that resulted in a major consequence
in her life "Aids".
She gave real straight talk on her life after being
diagnosed with Aids. This
was truly
a moving and humbling
presentation. Devondia
was a cover story featured in "VOICES"
when she first decided to go
public with her story.
Anson County's own Morven Church
of
God
of Prophecy praise dancers kept the evening full of life
and energy with several dances
which included "Victory" which Mrs. Rosebourgh claimed
as her new work out song.
The evening ended with drawings for door prizes and the biggest
give away of the evening
an Inspirational Dream Bedroom
Giveaway to a lucky child to inspire them to continue to do
their best in life with a
custom bedspread, throw pillows and curtains made exclusively for
them by Vision 2 Reality of Charlotte, N. C. owned by Mrs. Lavon
Marshall.
VOICES is appreciative to all supporters of the event, especially
SPCC and the Anson County Health Dept. for supporting the event
with informational booths. The
group suggests for those who missed this event to stay tuned for
upcoming events.
